Features & Capabilities

Monsoon is a quiet water intake tracker drawn in the visual language of the monsoon breaking over Kerala — a heavy storm cloud trailing diagonal rain across a night sky, falling into a collecting basin below. The home screen is that scene: the cloud and the rain fill the upper sky, and as you drink through the day the basin underneath fills with water from the bottom up.

The home screen is arranged differently from the usual tracker. The MONSOON HERO sits at the top — the storm-sky-and-basin scene described above, with the running total floating in a calm serif numeral over the sky ("1.24 L of 2.00 L") and a small "% IN THE BASIN" chip beneath it. The part that sets Monsoon apart is what comes next: the four quick-add buttons are not a separate floating bar — they sit in a BUTTON BAR flush-attached directly under the hero, sharing its rounded lower corners so the scene and its controls read as a single panel. Each button is its own little storm: a cloud over a few rain streaks, with a basin that fills to show the vessel's relative size. Tap a cloud and that measure rains down into the hero basin.

Below the attached panel is a row of three stat chips — STREAK, WEEK AVG and FALLS — and then TODAY'S RAINFALL, a vertical list of every measure that has fallen so far, each row introduced by a small droplet and a gold rule, with the clock time, the amount, and the vessel name. When the day's goal is met, a quiet teal banner crosses the screen: THE BASIN IS BRIMMING.

Tapping the rain icon opens ALMANAC — the historical view. A 14-day strip at the top shows each day as a tiny rain gauge filling with water, brighter on full days. Below it is a 30-day list where every day is its own almanac entry: a small rain gauge filled to that day's proportion of the goal, a FULL BASIN badge in teal when the day reached the target, the day's total in a calm serif numeral, and the count of falls.

The settings live in STATION — the weather station above the basin. There you can:
- Adjust the daily rainfall target in 100 ml steps (1.0 L – 4.5 L; or fluid ounces if you prefer)
- Switch units between metric (ml / L) and US fluid ounces
- Re-size each of the four rain-cloud vessels (Sip / Glass / Cup / Bottle)
- Toggle haptic feedback on button taps
- Toggle between Storm Night and a pale-overcast day palette

The app remembers up to a year of entries on the device. There is no account, no cloud, no sync — everything you pour lives only on your phone. Records older than a year are pruned to keep the database small. The almanac is yours to keep or to wipe.

Monsoon doesn't nag, doesn't send notifications, doesn't try to gamify hydration. It just gives you a quiet storm to bring down: rain falling from a heavy cloud, a basin filling below, a streak that grows by being kept, a row of past days with the full ones marked in teal.

Let it rain.
