Brim

Brim is a quiet water intake tracker drawn in the visual language of a Mediterranean vessel — the kind of slim amphora you see in old Cypriot pottery, with a flat gold brim, a turquoise water-line and a sprig of olive at its shoulder. The screen itself is the vessel. As you fill through the day, water rises from the bottom of the canvas toward a horizontal gold brim mark; when the day's goal is met, the brim line lifts and a quiet banner crosses the top: filled to the brim.

The home screen is laid out as one continuous body of water. The brand BRIM sits at the very top in an italic serif, flanked by a small olive sprig on each side. Just below it is a single floating card with the running figure — "1.24 L of 2.00 L" in large cream numerals and a small honey-gold percentage in the corner — so the day's total is the first thing your eye lands on. Three compact statistic chips (STREAK, WEEK AVG, POURS) sit in a single row immediately beneath the card. Below the chips, a "FILL" section heading marks the four quick-fill vessel buttons (Sip / Glass / Cup / Bottle) — one tap pours the corresponding amount and the water in the background rises another notch. Below the buttons is a "TODAY" section: a vertical log of pours, each row introduced by a small gold tide-mark and a horizontal rule, the time and amount on the left, the vessel name and a small remove button on the right. Behind everything, water fills the lower portion of the screen — deeper aegean below, a band of brighter turquoise at the surface — visibly shifting upward as you log new pours. The brim line itself is a thin gold horizontal rule that sits exactly at the water surface and a tiny gold tick on the right shows the current amount.

Tapping the menu icon opens MARKS — the historical view. A 14-day bar chart at the top shows each day's total against a horizontal gold goal line. Bars colored olive sage indicate days the brim was filled; turquoise bars indicate days below the brim. Below the chart is a 30-day list. Each day shows the relative name (Today, Yesterday, Monday, Mar 14), a small BRIM badge when the day hit goal, the day's total, a horizontal fill bar with a gold accent on the right edge for goal-met days, and the number of pours.

The settings live in CONDUIT — named after the small water channels that fed Mediterranean cisterns. There you can:
- Adjust the daily fill target in 100 ml steps (1.0 L – 4.5 L; or fluid ounces if you prefer)
- Switch units between metric (ml / L) and US fluid ounces
- Re-size each of the four quick-fill vessels (Sip / Glass / Cup / Bottle)
- Toggle haptic feedback on button taps
- Toggle between Aegean Night and a clean limestone-cream day palette

The app remembers up to a year of entries on the device. There is no account, no cloud, no sync — everything you pour lives only on your phone. Records older than a year are pruned to keep the database small. The Marks view is yours to keep or to erase.

Brim doesn't nag, doesn't send notifications, doesn't try to gamify hydration. It just gives you a quiet vessel to look at: water rising toward a gold brim line, a streak that grows by being kept, a row of past days with the brim-met days quietly marked in olive sage.
