Meridian - Daily Journal

Meridian is a journal for people who have tried to journal and stopped.

Every entry lights stars. Write about your day and Meridian finds what matters in it: the people, the places, the threads you are living through, the goals you are working toward. Each one becomes a star in a night sky that is yours alone. The ones you keep coming back to become constellations: your sister, the job search, the city you moved to. Tap one and its page tells its story, with every entry that mentions it.

WRITE IT OUT
• Speak, type or add a photo: whatever gets it out.
• Gentle prompts for the days you don't know where to start.
• Tag the place you wrote it, if you like.
• When you finish, Meridian reads it back to you. What it found lights up in your own words, then flies into your sky.

SEE YOUR STORY
• Your Story gathers the people and places of your life, the chapters you've lived through and the goals you're chasing.
• Ask is a private chat with your own journal. Ask anything about what you've written, and Meridian answers from your entries.
• A thread that goes quiet gets a gentle check-in, so a story gets finished instead of dropped.

KEEP SHOWING UP
• Streaks and milestones mark the days you write.
• Earn Stardust by journaling and spend it on new skies and star colours in the Shop.

APP LOCK (OPTIONAL)
Make your journal unskippable. Pick the apps you open without thinking and a time for each day. At that time they lock, and they stay locked until you've written that day's entry; then they open for the rest of the day. Open a locked app and Meridian's lock screen offers your journal instead. Once per lock, you can snooze it for 10 minutes with Stardust you've earned by writing.

App Lock uses Android's Accessibility API (an AccessibilityService) for one thing: to see which app comes to the front during your lock time, so it can show its lock screen over an app you chose. It never reads what's on your screen, never taps or types for you, and never locks Settings, your phone app or your home screen. The apps you choose and your lock times stay on your phone, and nothing the service sees leaves it. App Lock is off until you turn it on; Meridian explains it and asks for your consent first, and you can turn it off at any time in Android's Accessibility settings.

FRIENDS, ON YOUR TERMS
• Friends see that you showed up today, never what you wrote.
• Share one entry with a friend or a circle only when you choose to. It is encrypted, and opened only for the people you shared it with.

YOURS
• Your entries are encrypted with a key unique to your account before they leave your phone, and backed up, so they're there on your next phone. The same account works in Meridian on Android, iPhone and the web.
• Meridian's AI reads your entries to build your galaxy, your Story and Ask. Your journal is never used to train AI models, and never sold.
• No ads.
