Hitme: Screen & App Blocker

Hitme is a screen time app and app blocker with a catch. To open the apps you doomscroll, you play a hand of blackjack against the house for your minutes. Win the hand and you earn your screen time. Lose it and you stay blocked.

Block Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, and more. Earn your screen time back by staying off them, then choose: take your minutes straight, or play blackjack against the dealer for more.

HOW IT WORKS

• Pick your poison. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, whatever's eating your day. Hitme blocks them.
• Earn screen time the boring way. Every minute you stay off them, you earn a minute back, 1:1.
• Or play blackjack for more. Bet a few minutes against the dealer. A win pays 1:1, blackjack pays 3:2, and a bust forfeits the bet plus a block penalty.
• Spend the time you won, then get out before the countdown runs.

Whether you need an ADHD focus app, a study timer, or a realistic digital detox, this is an app blocker that doesn't lecture. It's a screen time tool for people who'd rather laugh about their phone addiction than meditate on it. No dopamine detox retreats. No "digital wellbeing" guilt trips. If you've caught yourself doomscrolling at 2am, been called "terminally online", or said the words "brain rot" without irony, this is built for you.

THE PATIENT PATH

Hitme isn't only blackjack. A 25-minute timer (call it pomodoro if you have to) earns 5 guaranteed minutes across every blocked app, for when you actually want to focus and stay off your phone. The table is for when you don't.

THE TABLE

Single deck, reshuffled every hand. Hit, stand, double down. Dealer hits soft 17. Blackjack pays 3:2. No real money is involved. Your only chips are the screen time you earned.

HOW HITME BLOCKS APPS (PERMISSIONS)

Hitme uses Android's Accessibility Service (the AccessibilityService API) to detect when you open an app you've chosen to block, so it can show the block screen and a blackjack hand. Hitme uses this permission only for app blocking. It does not collect, store, share, or transmit any of your data, and everything stays on your phone. You enable it yourself during setup, and you can disable it anytime in Android Settings, under Accessibility.

FEATURES

• Block apps on Android with one tap (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, X, Snapchat, Facebook, plus any app you add)
• Works as a social media blocker, game blocker, or focus mode for whatever's stealing your day
• Real blackjack with proper rules, no fake odds, no rigged dealer
• Patient timer (25 minutes earns 5) for when you'd rather not gamble
• Per-app screen time balances and history
• Stats: clean time, hands played, win rate, biggest win, worst bust
• Bet caps and daily hand limits so you can't tilt yourself into a 24-hour block

WHY IT WORKS

Most screen time apps and digital detox tools assume you want to become a better person. Hitme just makes the trade fair. Lose a hand and your scrolling actually costs you something. No wellness theatre. No reclaiming your zen. You're at a table.

WHAT IT IS NOT

• Not a real-money gambling app. There is no way to deposit or withdraw money. The chips are screen time you earned by abstaining.
• Not an ad-supported app. There are no ads, ever.
• Not a tracking app. There is no backend, no account, no telemetry. Everything stays on your phone. We couldn't spy on you if we tried.

PRO (coming soon)

Free Hitme is the full game. Pro adds Degen Mode, more games, unlimited blocked apps, advanced stats, and custom rules.

A NOTE ON GAMBLING

Hitme simulates blackjack for in-app, non-monetary stakes (the screen time you earned). It is not real-money gambling and offers no prizes of real-world value. Rated Teen / PEGI 16+ for simulated gambling. If you're under the legal gambling age in your country, or compulsive gambling is a struggle for you, please don't install this. There are gentler screen time apps.

TL;DR

Hit or stand. The house always wins. (That's you.)
