2025-01-12	Ri*****	I woke up this morning to find that my water heater was no longer connected in this app. Now after attempting to reconnect, uninstall/reinstall, I can't even log in to the app any longer and there's no error message to tell me why. It just doesn't advance past the login screen. This is completely broken. Update: Did manage to use this app successfully, though it was extremely cludgey. Be aware that if you upgrade to a newer version of Android OS, you need to load the new Rennai Central app.

2023-05-11	Ja*****	Okay, they fixed the temperature control, but they have broken the recirculation control... setting a timer for recirculation to run doesn't work. No matter what time you select, it runs for 5 minutes and shuts off. You can't turn it back on either until the timer runs out... makes doing things like laundry or running the dishwasher nearly useless because you don't have consistent hot water once you hit the rinse cycle or 2nd wash cycle for deep cleaning. Very frustrating.

This is probably the one thing you care about using, and it mostly doesn't work at all. There are other good water heaters out there, whose apps tend not to suck as bad as this one; you should consider buying one of those. Rinnai is clearly not interested in investing in WiFi module and app software that work. It's embarrassing how bad this is.

2022-11-04	Ab*****	Tried many times and it doesn't connect. What a waste of money. I tried everything, restart, reset, change network, uninstall and reinstall the app, nothing works. Every time I follow instructions to the end and I get the message unable to fetch. Now what's the point of paying for the WiFi/recirc device if there's no app available to make it work?

My router gave it an IP address. Would give it 2 stars, but I add it one back for the gracious customer service agent "Crystal" that has the poor job of dealing with frustrated customers. The app is fine for what is it, and I can use an Alexa skill, but I'm afraid it will break again in the near future.

It's unclear what some of the controls do. For instance, there's a toggle labeled, "Tankless Power," with no explanation. Sure, I want tankless power. Or do I? Unfortunately, I bought the WiFi module mainly hoping to get more insight into or control over the recirculation process, which has been a nightmare...

Recanting my review. Customer service was excellent. Responded to my email within 24hrs. Address and diagnosis my issue plus sent me a free replacement unit as my unit was the primary issue. Everything's been working like a charm since and no down time. Just make sure it has a strong wifi signal!

2021-09-15	An*****	Update 9/15/21: app won't even open on my new Samsung. Thank god schedule still works but the recirc now intermittently crashes on wife's Apple. Update 8/13/21: App still sucks. Recirculate now works less than half the time. Update 4/30/21: Heat isn't kicking on when I do unscheduled recir, customer service doesn't have a clue. Stuck with no hot water... Like everyone else I can't get this to work. I wish I would have known the app makes my product nearly worthless.
