HOW IT WORKS

1. Open BreakUp, read the permission explanation, and tap Agree.
2. Enable BreakUp in Android's Accessibility settings.
3. Set a password, open the Apps tab, and choose how to control each app.
4. Use your phone as usual. When you open a blocked app or reach a daily limit, BreakUp displays the block screen.

Daily usage limits reset at midnight according to your phone's local time. Blocking and time-limit enforcement work on your device without requiring an internet connection.

WHY BREAKUP USES ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION

BreakUp uses Android's AccessibilityService API to identify which app is currently open, display the block screen for restricted apps, and enforce daily time limits. This permission is essential for the app's core functionality.

Before requesting permission, BreakUp explains why it is needed and lets you choose Agree or Not now. The service only becomes active after you agree and enable it in Android's Accessibility settings. You can disable the permission at any time through Settings > Accessibility or uninstall the app.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can BreakUp read my messages or what I type?
No. It identifies the currently open app but does not read your screen content, keystrokes, passwords, or messages.
What if I forget my password?
BreakUp cannot recover a forgotten password. You can reset it by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings > Apps > BreakUp. This also resets your block list.
Why are there battery settings shortcuts?
Some phones, including certain Xiaomi models, may stop background apps to save battery. This can interrupt blocking. The shortcuts help you find the relevant Android settings to keep BreakUp running.

Can I stop using BreakUp?
Yes. You can disable its Accessibility permission in Android Settings > Accessibility or uninstall the app at any time.

ADS AND REWARDS

BreakUp is free and supported by Google AdMob ads. You may see banner ads, occasional full-screen ads, and optional rewarded ads that provide 5 extra minutes in an app that has reached its daily limit.

Google AdMob may use your advertising ID and other device information to serve ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. Your block list, limits, and usage minutes are never shared with advertisers.
