Brass Cog

Brass Cog is a quiet habit streak tracker drawn as a watchmaker's bench. Every habit is a movement waiting to run. Keep it today and you wind it once; the streak is a gear train that lengthens by one cog with every day kept. Miss a day and the train simply stops on the bench, waiting for the next wind.

THE BENCH (home)
The home screen opens on a single brass WIND DIAL whose teeth light up as you complete the day's habits — one glance tells you how much of today is already wound, with the count beside it. Below, under TODAY'S MOVEMENT, each habit gets a card where the round cog toggle sits up in the top-right corner rather than buried in a row: tap the cog to wind today, tap the name to step in. The card carries the habit name, the streak in plain words, and a meshing gear train along the bottom that grows with the streak.

THE GEARING (per-habit detail)
Every habit has its own screen. A long gear train runs across its frame, lengthened cog by cog to the current streak, with the headline DAY STREAK below and three figures beneath that — best streak ever, 30-day completion rate, and total winds. Then comes THE GEARING: a full month calendar where every wound day is finished in the habit's color and today is ringed in brass. Tap any past day to correct the record.

THE TRAIN (overview)
The train ranks all your streaks by how deep they run — the longest first, each shown as its own gear train. Four figures sit above the ranking: your longest train running now, your best ever, how many are still ticking, and the total winds you've made across the whole bench. A fourteen-day strip shows how steady the work has been.

THE LATHE (cut new cogs + settings)
The lathe is where you cut new cogs and tend the ones you have. Name a habit, choose a finish — Brass, Blued Steel, Gilt or Copper — set a weekly aim, and cut the cog. Existing habits can be renamed, re-finished, re-aimed, reordered, or scrapped in place. The same screen holds your preferences: haptic feedback, the dark gunmetal palette, and whether the week starts on Monday.

Brass Cog ships with four starter cogs so the bench is never bare, and you can clear them and cut your own at any time. Everything lives only on your device — there is no account, no cloud, no sync, no notifications, and nothing is ever sent anywhere. It does not gamify, nag, or guilt. It simply gives you a movement to wind, and a streak that grows by being kept.
