Crazy Time is a workbench 🛠️ for anyone who has stood in front of a Viking-Age
memorial stone and wished the marks would resolve. It puts the epigrapher's
whole method in your hands: raking light, a rune-row you can trust, and a
transliteration that firms up letter by letter as you commit each stave.

THE READING STONE in Crazy Time
Sweep a low, raking light across a weathered rubbing with your thumb. Eroded
chisel-marks surface only when the beam catches them at the right angle, exactly
as they do in the field. Tap 👆 a mark and it lifts off the stone as an ice-cyan
glyph into your reading rail, leaving a socket behind. Declare your hand —
long-branch or short-twig — and the row-model tells you immediately whether the
reading you are attempting is even legal, and why ❓.

Assign a rune from the wheel: single staves, dotted variants that turn u into y
and b into p, or a bind-rune split across a shared trunk. Seat it home and the
glyph settles from cyan to brass-gilt, locked. Beneath it the Old Norse gloss
firms up one letter at a time ⏱️ — but only as far as your reading is actually
correct. Fill the rail with confident nonsense and the gloss will tell you so.
