Classic YT Layout restores the traditional YouTube video player controls that were reorganized in YouTube's 2025/2026 player update.

WHAT CHANGED IN YOUTUBE'S NEW LAYOUT: YouTube's new mobile-style player moved the volume control to the top-right corner, removed the play button from the bottom bar, and rearranged CC, settings, and fullscreen controls. This affects embedded YouTube videos on third-party sites such as Reddit.

WHAT THIS EXTENSION RESTORES: • Bottom-left: Play/pause, volume control with slider, timestamp • Bottom-right: Closed captions, settings, fullscreen • Top-right: Share, Watch Later

SMART DETECTION: The extension only activates when the new player layout is detected. If you are already receiving the classic YouTube layout, the extension does nothing and adds zero overhead.

LIGHTWEIGHT: No background polling, no network requests, no data collection. Two narrow MutationObservers watch only what is necessary. The extension has no impact on page performance.

TOGGLE: A simple on/off toggle in the extension popup lets you enable or disable the layout fix without uninstalling.

COMPATIBILITY: Works on embedded YouTube players on any website, including Reddit and similar platforms.

Did Exactly what dev promised on a very specific website and application (notably v4c.fun). Your mileage may vary but on this website does exactly what it should do.

It sort of works, but it only restores the layout and not functionality. If that's all you need, grab this extension! If you want functionality back you should know that these are still not working: - double click for full screen - scroll volume bar - < and > for speed down/up - left/right is still -/+10s in stead of 5 - up/down doesn't change volume - 0-9 buttons don't jump to 0-90% of the video
