DyslexiFocus is a reading companion for anyone who struggles to get through text — people with ADHD, dyslexia, visual stress, or simply those who read better with help. Select any text on any webpage and it opens in a clean, distraction-free side panel where you read it aloud, adapt the typography to your brain, and understand hard passages instantly — all on your device, with no account and no sign-up.

READ IT ALOUD, WORD BY WORD Select text on any page and click the floating "Send to DyslexiFocus" button. The extension reads the text aloud with word-by-word highlighting, so your eyes and ears stay in sync. Pause with the Space bar, jump sentence by sentence with the arrow keys, and stop anytime with S. No selection handy? One click reads the whole page's main text instead. Choose your reading voice and its pitch, and set the words-per-minute speed that feels right — a progress bar and an estimated reading time keep you oriented.

WORKS IN YOUR LANGUAGE DyslexiFocus reads text in any language: it uses the voices already installed on your computer, so English, Spanish, French, German, Romanian and many other languages are read with a natural accent. The AI understands the language of your text — explanations and summaries come back in that same language, and the translation tool can convert your text into six languages (English, Romanian, German, Spanish, French, Japanese).

TYPOGRAPHY THAT WORKS FOR YOUR BRAIN Two reading profiles are one click away. The ADHD profile adds generous line spacing so long paragraphs stop merging into one wall of text. The Dyslexic profile switches to the OpenDyslexic font with wider letters, the layout specifically designed to reduce letter confusion. On top of that you get seven independent typography tools: bigger or smaller text, bionic reading (bold word starts that guide your eye), focus mode (one paragraph at a time), a reading ruler that follows your cursor, wider letter and word spacing, a narrow column with shorter lines, and a yellow or blue color overlay for visual stress — plus three color themes (dark, cream, soft blue) so you can pick the light your eyes prefer. Every tool is a toggle — mix them freely until the page reads like it was written for you.

UNDERSTAND EVERY WORD Tap any hard word and get a one-sentence explanation in simple language, right in the text. No dictionaries to open, no tabs to switch — just a quick nudge in your own reading flow.

FREE AI THAT SUMMARIZES, EXPLAINS AND QUIZZES Eight comprehension tools run on Chrome's built-in AI: get a TL;DR and have it read aloud, ask questions about the text, label each paragraph so you never lose the thread, build a glossary of the hard terms, extract an action checklist, flag the things worth discussing, translate the text, or test yourself with a comprehension quiz. Everything runs on your own device — your text never leaves your computer.

SAVE AND COME BACK Too long to finish now? Save the text with one click and reopen it anytime from the "Read later" list, exactly where you left it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no tracking, no cloud. Your settings and saved texts live only in your browser, and the AI features run entirely on-device. If you remove the extension, every trace is gone.

REQUIREMENTS AI features require Chrome 128 or newer with the built-in Gemini Nano model enabled (available by default in English). Reading and typography tools work in every browser and every language.
