The Consumer Reports Chrome extension transforms your online shopping experience. It automatically detects and displays the CR ratings of products you browse on supported sites, and shares recommendations on whether a product is a 'best buy' or a 'don’t buy'. Consumer Report's official browser add-on. By installing you agree to our User Agreement (cr.org/useragreement) and Privacy Policy (cr.org/privacypolicy).

CR members with access to ratings (Digital and All Access) can shop online and the CR add-on will help you evaluate and compare products so you can make the best shopping decisions.

When you browse or search for products on certain sites (see https://www.consumerreports.org/cr-add-on/ for active list) and the CR add-on detects that you're looking at a category or model that our experts have tested, it will show you the CR rating.
It will also show you if the model is CR "recommended" or a "best buy" (a product that delivers best value with solid performance).
If a product is a “don’t buy” or has a safety warning, it will automatically let you know so you can stay safe and informed.

Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit member organization that works side by side with consumers for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace.

The CR extension constantly nags you to sign-in. This is the only extension that ask me sign it each time I open Chrome. I like the extension, but find this annoying to the point I have disabled it until I need it.

Still has generic landing page, and ratings for items I know have been tested are not showing up. Hopefully everything get worked out and this can be put to good use. Still nice to have for copy and pasting from the site.

The App. has worked seamlessly for me (fingers crossed). I downloaded, installed, found the green, CR button up top, logged-in, all in 6 minutes on a very old 2009 Sony PC. Alas, I've given it 4 Stars, not 5, due to an in-general, issue I'm having with CR Recommendations which I'm coming up against more often over the past couple of years. I chose the "Recommended July's Deep Discounts", found exactly what I needed, Kitchen Appliances, Refrigerators,(I'm on a roll, baby) chose Top Freezers -then, and right out of the gate, in the three, most critical Categories: Customer Satisfaction, Reliability, Ease of Use, are rated by consumers , the dreaded RED, Downward, Double v's, or yellow lines, etc. So here's the rub, how can I trust CR when it happens so frequently that "Recommended" products are actually products which Members are not recommending? OK, I get it, I've digressed. The App. works perfectly as I have 'Now Entered The CR Confusion Zone' more quickly.
