91x Firefox

91x

By: 91x Add-on
Measures active time on the web apps and AI tools used at work.

Features & Capabilities

The 91x Browser Extension reports active app and tool usage to the 91x Platform — the SaaS used by IT and finance teams to manage app and tool licenses across their workforce. The extension is designed to be deployed by IT to a managed browser fleet, not installed by individual end users.

What it does

When you're signed in with your work account, the extension records:

  • Hostnames of websites you visit (e.g. figma.com) — never full URLs, paths, query strings, titles, or page content
  • Active focus time on each site — tracking pauses when the tab loses focus or the user is idle for more than 5 minutes
  • Which browser the extension is running in (Chrome, Edge, Brave, or Firefox)
That data flows to your organization's 91x Platform tenant, where it answers the question "is the seat we paid for actually being used?".

What it does NOT do

  • Does not capture full URLs, paths, query strings, page titles, or page content
  • Does not capture form inputs, keystrokes, clipboard data, or screenshots
  • Does not capture browsing history, bookmarks, or downloads
  • Does not run in private browsing windows
  • Does not track personal accounts — sign-in is via your work OAuth provider only (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace)
Who it's for

This extension only works if your organization has an active 91x Platform tenant. There is no value to installing it as an individual.

If you'd like to evaluate the platform for your organization, contact us at contact@91x.ai.

Technical details

Manifest V3, Firefox 142+. Authenticates via OAuth through your existing work account (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace). Active focus time is measured via the WebExtensions tabs, windows, and idle APIs — only when the user actually has the tab in front of them. Idle time, time in other tabs, and time in other applications never count toward "active usage".

Is 91x Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

91x requires a lot of sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

91x is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
