Web Time Tracker Firefox

Web Time Tracker

Web Time Tracker helps you understand how much time you spend on websites in Firefox. It tracks active tab time, shows total browser usage, and breaks down time per site with percentages, progress bars, and visit counts.

Features & Capabilities

Web Time Tracker is a Firefox extension that helps you understand your real browsing habits by measuring how much active time you spend on websites. It tracks per-site usage, total browser time, and visit counts, then displays everything in a clean popup with search, sorting, percentage bars, and visual charts.

The extension includes practical analytics tools: quick time filters (today, last 7 days, last 30 days, all time), daily and weekly chart overviews with tooltips, top-site summaries, and average daily usage. You can also customize tracking behavior with blacklist rules, optional subdomain merge, hidden sites, tags (for example work/personal/distract), and usage limits with subtle local notifications.

Your data stays local in Firefox storage. No account is required, no remote analytics are used, and no browsing statistics are sent to external servers by default. You can export your data to JSON, import it back later (merge or replace), and reset safely with automatic backup export before clearing data.

Is Web Time Tracker Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Web Time Tracker requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Web Time Tracker is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
