User Reviews
Pros
- Easy installation and works on first use.
- Very convenient for saving pages and links, making archiving effortless.
- Great for preventing link rot by archiving content via the Wayback Machine.
- Auto-archive feature is a standout capability.
- Generally useful and reliable for quick access to archived content.
Cons
- Save/archive failures and inconsistent results (sometimes reports success but archive is missing or unreachable).
- Archived pages sometimes show I’m not able to view them or encounter 'not available' glitches when viewing archives.
- Not as up-to-date as Chrome/Edge/Safari versions; slower updates and maintenance.
- UI/dark mode doesn’t always respect dark themes in some screens.
- Auto-archiving can slow down devices or consume noticeable resources on larger workloads.
Recent reviews
Perfect extension because allows quick viewing if page is already archived before, when, how many times, and allows quickly saving now, and tons of options. Faster and easier than using their site alone.

Is Wayback Machine Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Wayback Machine requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
