User Reviews

Vertical Twitch on Firefox is highly valued for vertical monitor setups, offering a vertical video/chat layout and positive performance when it works. Users praise it as a great extension with an active developer. However, reliability bugs, chat/video overlap issues (including conflicts with 7tv), and UI elements disappearing are repeatedly reported. Several reviews also note a lack of updates since mid-2024, leaving some issues unresolved. Overall, very useful but with notable reliability and UI concerns.
Pros
  • Very handy for vertical monitor setups, enabling a vertical Twitch layout.
  • Enables vertical theater mode with video and chat in a vertical arrangement.
  • Generally positive reception and praise as a great extension when it works.
  • Active developer with ongoing updates and responsiveness.
Cons
  • Reliability issues: the extension stops working or behaves erratically and bugs appear.
  • Chat/video layout bugs and misalignment, including overlaps and conflicts with 7tv.
  • UI inconsistencies: the button to switch views/enable vertical mode sometimes disappears or is unavailable.
  • Maintenance gaps: not updated for months, leaving existing issues unresolved.

the app works great, but if i used betterttv addon to move the chat from right to the left of the streams, vertical twitch breaks and the chat appeared over the stream. can u update your addon so that it wont matter if the chat is on the right or on the left before i use vertical twitch? hopefully this request is not to much of a bother to you. thank you

I have 3 monitors with the middle being vertical and the one I prefer to watch Twitch on and I am so glad that I found this, no idea why they don't have their own vertical setting. Sometimes the app bugs out and will make the chat the entire page or will keep shrinking the video when you try to adjust the video to chat ration however I find refreshing will usually fix that so personally I don't consider it to be a real problem compared to the utility of the app

Is Vertical Twitch Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Vertical Twitch requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
