Under New Management Firefox

Under New Management

Detect when your installed Firefox extensions have changed owners.

Features & Capabilities

The Under New Management Chrome extension helps you keep track of changes in ownership for your installed Firefox extensions. It intermittently checks each extension against the Firefox Add-on store to detect any updates to the developer information. When a change is found, a red badge appears on the extension's icon, alerting you immediately. This keeps you informed about who controls your extensions, helping safeguard your browser from potential risks related to new or untrusted developers.

This tool is ideal for users who want to maintain security and transparency about their extensions' management. The open-source project is available on GitHub for those interested in its implementation or contributing to its development.

Is Under New Management Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Under New Management requires very minimum permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
