Overall the app is easy to use and generally improves ticketing, but persistent reliability problems, forced updates, and problematic external-ticket integration undermine the user experience. Accessing tickets and QR codes can be cumbersome, and inbox issues add frustration. Improvements in stability, offline access, and external-ticket handling are needed.

Terrible decision to remove the simple open return option. Whilst open returns are no longer available for LNER services, LNER doesn't seem to have grasped the concept that people want to buy tickets for other TOCs services on the app where open returns are still available. Open returns for other TOCs are still present in the app, but require a far longer and convoluted user journey. Up until this point, the LNER app was the best designed of all the TOC apps, but this is no longer the case.
