Cavline TV

Cavline Signage turns an Android TV device into a managed digital signage screen. Pair the TV once with a code, then control everything from the Cavline admin panel: what plays, in which layout, and when. The screen keeps running on its own, unattended, for as long as it has power.

WHAT IT DOES

• Plays videos and images in looping playlists you build in the Cavline admin panel
• Receives content changes in seconds, so an update made in the office is on the screen almost immediately
• Supports split-screen layouts with two to five zones, each running its own playlist or holding a fixed image
• Works on landscape, portrait and rotated panels; the app handles rotation itself
• Lets each zone letterbox (fit) or crop (fill) to suit the content
• Overlays QR codes on playlist items so viewers can scan for more information
• Shows an "on screen now" view in the admin panel so operators can see what a screen is playing right now

BUILT FOR UNATTENDED SCREENS

• Starts automatically after the device boots, and can act as the launcher on Android TV and AOSP signage boxes
• Keeps the screen awake and blocks the screensaver while content is playing
• Keeps playing from local storage when the network goes down, and picks up new content when the connection returns
• Never drops back to the pairing screen because of a network problem. Only an explicit unpair from the admin panel does that
• Reports playback problems, such as failed downloads or decode errors, to the admin panel so you can fix them without visiting the screen

SIMPLE PAIRING

1. Install Cavline Signage on your Android TV device and open it
2. A nine-digit code and a QR code appear on the screen
3. Enter the code, or scan it, in the Cavline admin panel
4. The screen pairs, downloads its content, and starts playing

No accounts, passwords or settings are entered on the TV itself.

REQUIREMENTS

• An Android TV device running Android 5.1 (API 22) or later
• A Cavline mobile or web application
• An internet connection for pairing and content updates
