Toggle Tabs Audio

toggle the audio state of a previously selected group of tabs

Usage This addon uses 8 hot/short-cut keys, 2 for each usable audio group, one for tabs to group assigning and one for group mute toggling.

The default Shortcuts are

F1 := Assign Selected Tabs to Group 1
F2 := Toggle Audio State of Group 1
F3 := Assign Selected Tabs to Group 2
F4 := Toggle Audio State of Group 2
F5 := Assign Selected Tabs to Group 3
F6 := Toggle Audio State of Group 3
F7 := Assign Selected Tabs to Group 4
F8 := Toggle Audio State of Group 4

which can be reassigned via the gear icon on the about:addons page. (see here: ref. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-extension-shortcuts-firefox ), where all shortcut keys for addons can be configured.

After selecting the tabs you want to control, just press a Group Assign hotkey. Thereafter you can use the corresponding Toggle key to control the audio state (of the previous selected/assigned tabs)

The toolbar button indicates if a tab is part of a group (and which) and and clicking it will unassign all tabs from all groups (aka. clear/reset)

Notes:

1. <u>Permissions:</u>
   • tabs, to change the tabs mute state
   • notification, to show a brief notification when tab group was created
   This add-on tries to use the minimal number of required permissions to successfully fullfill its intended purpose.
