Tab Image Saver Firefox

Tab Image Saver

By: mcdamo
Save images from open tabs. Default action saves largest image in active tab, with options to act on tabs to the left or right of the active tab.

Features & Capabilities

Tab Image Saver is a Firefox extension designed to simplify saving images from multiple open tabs. By default, it saves the largest image found on the active tab, but users can customize the behavior to target tabs to the left, right, or all tabs. It supports multitasking across browser windows, keyboard shortcuts, and provides options such as filtering by minimum image size, closing tabs after saving, and hiding images from download history.

The extension displays a progress badge on its icon, shows notifications upon completion, and renames files automatically for organized downloads. It respects user privacy by only accessing tabs and websites when initiated and requires necessary permissions solely for its functionality. Ideal for users looking for an efficient way to save images in bulk from Firefox browser tabs.

User Reviews

Users frequently praise the add-on as simple, efficient and a real time-saver that works well on many sites. The main recurring problems are wrong/generic filenames, corrupted or misformatted image files, and increasing inconsistency or breakage for some users across sites or sessions.

  • Simple, seamless and easy to use; praised for efficiency
  • Big time-saver and generally useful for image downloading workflows
  • Performs reliably on supported sites according to multiple reviews
Cons
  • Frequent filename problems — pages saved with generic names (e.g. file.php, remote_control(1).php) instead of correct image names
  • Image files sometimes corrupted or misformatted, requiring manual reconversion
  • Inconsistent/recently broken behavior for some users — works on some sites but fails or degrades over time

Нормик, просто, но рабочее

Great addon. However, one thing is missing: With URLs such as www.site.com/download/file.php?id=12345&mode=view each page is being saved as file.php, file(1).php,... When I save such a page in Firefox, using CTRL+s it is saved with its correct name, e.g. picture1.jpg. Any chance to add this option?
