Standin Firefox

Standin

Open pages from sites like Youtube or Twitter with alternative frontends like Piped or Nitter!

Features & Capabilities

This is a quality-of-life add-on for those who use alternative front-end websites like piped.kavin.rocks, invidious instances, teddit.net or nitter.net. If you want to switch a youtube, reddit, twitter, etc link to another front-end but can't be bothered to edit the url every time, Standin will make the process quick and uninvolved! Just select the front-end domain you want as a replacement and you can, then, when the page you want replaced is in focus (as an active tab) open a Standin link with a click!

You can also change Youtube and Twitter links with the right-click context menu, so you don't need to first open the page you want changed to your preferred front-end!

Standin is currently compatible with Youtube, Twitter, Reddit, Medium, Tiktok and Imgur fornt-ends.

Note: If this addon is ever available on the Android version, the context-menu feature may not work, due to the different way context menus behave on Android.

Is Standin Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Standin does not require any sensitive permissions.
