SOC Analyst Toolkit Firefox

SOC Analyst Toolkit

A comprehensive toolkit for SOC analysts with IOC analysis, OSINT integration, and snippet management

Features & Capabilities

0.5.2

Fixed: • The floating window no longer opens by itself when you launch the browser. It only opens from the toolbar button now, and it still remembers its size and position. • Clicking a snippet in the page overlay used to fail silently. It now copies the snippet content like it should. • Changing the theme or other settings no longer resets your page snippet toggle or bulk link preference. • VirusTotal URL lookups now land on the correct report page. • CSV exports escape quotes properly and guard against spreadsheet formula injection.

Changed: • Cleaned up internal code and consolidated the triage prompt builder into one shared module.

Note for Firefox users: this is the first Firefox release. Host permissions are optional at install time. If you want IOC enrichment (API calls to VirusTotal, AbuseIPDB, etc.), grant them in the install prompt or in about:addons. Everything else works without them.

Is SOC Analyst Toolkit Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

SOC Analyst Toolkit requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

SOC Analyst Toolkit is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
