I usually use the "super simple highlighter" extension in chrome and needed an alternative in firefox. I love the simplicity of this add-on and that you can export to markdown (haven't tested). What I miss as a researcher is a shortcut to remove the highlighted area in case of unintended highlighting.

it would be nice if it could save the highlight such that whenever you come back to the page its still highlighted.
