User Reviews

Users appreciate Save As eBook for its unique ability to save multiple web pages as chapters in an ePub with an easy-to-use interface and generally good output quality. However, several users report bugs like loading issues in the table of contents, failures on large pages, and lack of integration with Firefox Reader View. Additional control over content selection and improved stability would enhance the add-on's reliability and usefulness.
Pros
  • Allows saving multiple web pages as chapters in a single ePub, a unique feature not common in similar add-ons.
  • Easy to use with a user-friendly interface for chapter creation from selections or whole pages.
  • Produces mostly accurate and well-formatted ePub files preserving most page elements.
  • Compactly saves various types of information and works well in converting online books to ePub.
  • Considered a worthy replacement for other similar add-ons that no longer function properly.
Cons
  • Can be buggy and unreliable, with issues like 'loading..' appearing in table of contents and improper handling of internal anchor links.
  • Lacks functionality to work directly in Firefox Reader View, which would improve output quality.
  • Can hang or fail silently on large pages, making it less stable.
  • Some tools such as 'raw preview' fail, requiring users to download the eBook to verify results.
  • Needs more control over captured content, such as specifying XPath elements to include or exclude.

Firefox offers "save as webpage", and it works perfectly... It has the anchor links... (to chapters, within the page), and the images... ----------- What this plugin offers is great: save a page, and save other pages as chapters to it.... However, table of content contains "loading.." as the second menu item... Internal ("#" anchor links) point at web address... Using Firefox in save as webpage mode is perfect, whereas this plugin is buggy and, as such, unreliable...
