Save Tab URLs Firefox

Save Tab URLs

By: M A
Show, save and restore the page URLs along with page Titles of all opened tabs of current browser window. Show as copyable plaintext. Save and restore from text file.

Features & Capabilities

Save Tab URLs is a powerful Chrome extension that allows users to efficiently manage their open browser tabs by displaying all URLs and page titles in a single, copyable plain text interface. With the simple click of the [ST] toolbar button, users can view all loaded tabs in the current window, save these lists to text files, copy them to the clipboard, or edit them before saving or reopening.

This extension also supports reopening saved URLs in bulk while skipping duplicates already open. It respects browser behavior by not interfering with how tabs are loaded and provides guidance for cases where tabs might require manual reloading for full functionality. Save Tab URLs is perfect for users who want quick and flexible control over their browsing session management without slowing down the browser startup process.

User Reviews

Users praise the add-on for reliably exporting full tab URLs to a plain-text file in a simple, fast, non‑intrusive way. Common limitations noted by multiple reviewers are that it only saves the current window, lacks an import/restore feature, has mixed Android compatibility, and can produce formatting hard to read in basic editors.
Pros
  • Saves all open tabs from the current window into a plain-text file (URLs and titles).
  • Very simple, lightweight and non-intrusive — easy to use with minimal bloat.
  • Exports complete URLs (not just domains) and is fast for copying/pasting or saving externally.
  • Works reliably on desktop/laptop Firefox for the reviewers who tested it.
Cons
  • Only saves tabs from the active window — no built‑in way to select arbitrary tabs across windows.
  • No import/restore feature: you cannot reopen a session or load URLs back from the saved text file.
  • Inconsistent reports about Android compatibility — some users say it works on Android, others report it finds no URLs there.
  • Output formatting can be inconvenient in some editors (e.g., all URLs on one line in Notepad).

Exactly what I'm looking for - a way to save URLs in a text file without all the bloat. I don't want bookmarks either, just a copy of the URLs saved on an external drive, a location that I choose. I can refer to them later for any given subject. Note: This saves all tabs in the current window, so if you want only certain tabs saved in the URL list, first move the tabs of which you want the URLs saved to the window in which you are going to save all the URLs. Only that window will be included in the list of URLs. Works great on Firefox running on a desktop PC or laptop.
