SimpleEditorLight is a multi-window text editor for Chrome that lets you create, edit, and save text and code files locally or to cloud storage. It supports a broad range of file types (txt, xml, html, css, svg, fb2, and more), multiple encodings, and the ability to open several files at once with an undo history.

It includes syntax highlighting for common web and document formats, auto-detect encoding, search and replace, printing, and voice typing. You can forward editor contents via email, SMS, or messaging apps, access recent files, and edit on cloud services (details on the website). It also notes limitations: large files may be slow to open/scroll; the free version offers 40 encodings and 30 undo steps, and binary files may display with data loss.
