User Reviews

Many users report Redirect Blocker slows the system with high CPU/RAM usage and even crashes, while a subset says it blocks redirects effectively. Overall, reliability and performance concerns dominate, with several reviewers worried about potential hidden activity and inconsistent redirect blocking across sites.
Pros
  • Blocks redirects on many sites, helping pages with multiple redirects become usable.
Cons
  • Extremely high CPU usage and memory consumption; system slows down significantly.
  • Redirect blocking is not reliable; some sites still redirect or the extension fails to block redirects.
  • Can crash the browser in some cases.
  • Suspected suspicious background activity (high resource usage may resemble cryptocurrency mining).
Recent reviews
I've installed and then uninstalled Redirect Blocker twice today due to high CPU usage and constant hard disk read and writes to the point where my Linux running laptop slowed down to a snails-pace crawl thus my reasoning for giving this extension a 1 star review. I therefore do not recommend anyone to tryout this extension at all.
