Rapid Journal Quality Check Firefox

Rapid Journal Quality Check

Displays rankings and h-index for academic journals next to Google Scholar search results.

Features & Capabilities

The Rapid Journal Quality Check Firefox extension streamlines academic research by displaying journal rankings and h-index alongside Google Scholar search results. Whether you're browsing articles, author profiles, or citation pages, this tool provides instant access to a variety of ranking systems such as SJR, ABDC, ABS, VHB, FT50, CORE, and more. Users can customize their view depending on discipline focus, ranging from interdisciplinary rankings to specialized economics, social sciences, and computer science lists.

By integrating rankings including the VHB Jourqual 4 MARK and NAMA partial ratings, the extension supports informed decisions about academic journal quality and impact. Developed as a Firefox port of Dr. Julian Wichmann's Chrome/Edge version, it adds enhanced coverage specific to VHB Jourqual4 evaluation. Perfect for researchers seeking quick, reliable journal evaluation metrics directly within their browser while navigating Google Scholar.

User Reviews

Works well and smoothly and it's a useful addition. But it's time for an update as some of the rankings have been updated; twice in the case of ABDC.

So far so good. However, it only recognizes scholar.google.com. It will not work if you are accessing the site through a university proxy that modifies Google Scholar address.
