User Reviews

Overall, users find Pearltrees useful for saving and organizing bookmarks and view it as an interesting, generally positive extension. However, recurring concerns include privacy/tracking, data loss when linked content is deleted, and a paid-private-saving model that isn’t clearly disclosed. Additional negatives point to insufficient maintenance and Firefox compatibility problems. The app is valued for bookmarking but needs clearer privacy guarantees and ongoing updates to satisfy repeat users.
Pros
  • Useful for saving links and as a general bookmarking reference.
  • Positive, interesting, and useful extension with generally favorable sentiment.
  • Perceived as a valuable bookmarking tool (easy to use, helpful for memory/organization).
  • Frequent positive mentions like 'Super' and 'very good' indicating overall satisfaction.
Cons
  • Privacy concerns: the extension tracks users and stores folders/content not accessible by the user.
  • Links to external content can be lost if the source (e.g., YouTube video) is removed, making bookmarks stale.
  • Paid subscription required for private saving with unclear disclosure; bookmarks may become public.
  • Lack of maintenance/updates and compatibility issues with newer Firefox versions (extension appears outdated).

I find this bookmark site useful for saving links for late sharing of source information and as a general reference. My biggest complaint is that when a site like YT deletes a video it also gets deleted here. This site also keeps track of you by installing folders within your own, the content of which is not accessible by you.
