SAMAR Assessor - Conduct assessments for SAMAR certification

The SAMAR Assessor App is the official field application of the SAMAR programme, administered jointly by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Quality Council of India (QCI). It equips empanelled assessors to carry out the on-site assessment of a manufacturing or service unit against the SAMAR maturity framework. The application is designed to function without an internet connection at the assessment site: the assessor can view the allotted assessment as soon as it is assigned, records every response and photograph on the device during the visit, and synchronises the data with the SAMAR system once connectivity is restored.

Key Features:

Offline-first assessment: Allocate the required parameters for an allotted assessment while online and complete it on site with no connectivity; all responses are stored securely on the device until synchronised.

Guided workflow: Work through the assessment in sequence - punch in, parameter allocation, site pictures, opening meeting, site tour, basic information, assessment parameters, closing meeting and punch out.

Lead and co-assessor roles: The lead assessor apportions parameters to the team; each co-assessor views and responds to the portions apportioned to them and submits from the device.

On-site evidence capture: Record site photographs and site-tour observations directly from the device camera, with the required camera, location and storage permissions.

Reliable synchronisation: Transmit recorded data to the SAMAR system when connectivity returns, with clear success and failure indicators so nothing is lost.

Who Can Use the App?

The SAMAR Assessor App is exclusively for assessors empanelled by DRDO and QCI and duly deputed to an assessment under the SAMAR programme. Access requires a valid SAMAR ID and password. Logging in on a device ends any existing session on another device. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

How It Works:

1. Log in: Sign in with your SAMAR ID and password.

2. Open assessment: Open the allotted assessment and let it download in full while online.

3. Conduct on site assessment: Complete the steps in sequence - punch in, parameter allocation, site pictures, opening meeting, site tour, basic information, assessment parameters, closing meeting and punch out - capturing responses, site tour and photographs offline.

4. Apportion parameters: As lead assessor, allocate parameters to the team; co-assessors respond to their portions.

5. Synchronise: On regaining connectivity, synchronise the recorded data with the SAMAR system.

6. Submit: Each co-assessor submits their portion; the lead assessor submits the assessment for quality check.

About the SAMAR Programme:

SAMAR (System for Advanced Maturity Assessment and Rating) is an online system administered jointly by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Quality Council of India (QCI). It provides for the certification of a manufacturing or service unit with respect to its quality and maturity. An organisation submits an application online, DRDO accords approval, the fee is remitted, an empanelled assessor conducts an on-site assessment, a rating committee reviews the outcome, and a certificate is issued.
