User Reviews

Users praise How We Feel for easy, offline mood tracking, journaling, and a free, ad-free experience with handy widget logging. Recurrent drawbacks include Android-specific limits on custom emotions, bugs causing data loss, feature gaps versus iOS, and login/account issues, plus Google Play Services dependency. Overall, strong value with stability and parity improvements needed.
Pros
  • Easy, quick mood tracking and journaling with an intuitive UI
  • Offline logging capability
  • Free to use and ad-free with no data hog
  • Widget-based quick check-ins for fast logging
  • Supports journaling and mood insights that aid mental-health journeys
Cons
  • Android lacks support for custom emotions; limited emotion options
  • Bugs can cause data loss or failed saves and there are login/account issues
  • Feature parity gaps with iOS (e.g., body mapping, daily prompts) and cross-device emotion customization
  • Login/out issues and support delays around account access
  • Dependency on Google Play Services; calls for open-source parity

My RO-DBT group therapist suggested this app and it is just...SO good. I really like that it leverages AI to generate prompts for reflection based on your emotions and will actually provide additional prompts based on what you wrote if you want even deeper engagement. Also, I'd be very willing to pay for a subscription, but these guys only want donations and nothing is gated behind pay walls. THERE AREN'T EVEN ADS. Absolute mad lads right here. 11/10 HIGHLY recommend.
