OhMyECH - ECH Indicator Firefox

OhMyECH - ECH Indicator

Add a visual indication whether a site uses ECH (Encrypted-Client-Hello), or not, to the address bar.

Features & Capabilities

OhMyECH - ECH Indicator is a Chrome extension that gives users a straightforward visual indicator in the address bar showing whether a site uses Encrypted-Client-Hello (ECH), enhancing privacy and security awareness during web browsing.

ECH is an extension to TLSv1.3 that encrypts the Client-Hello message, preventing middle-men from snooping on the Server Name Indication (SNI) and thus protecting the domain name of the website you are visiting. This extension displays a green or red lock next to the address bar similar to the HTTPS lock, making it easy to see if ECH is in use.

Open source and transparent, the extension's code is available on GitHub, encouraging community trust and contributions. This tool is especially useful for privacy-conscious users and security professionals who want to verify ECH adoption in real-time while browsing.

It didn't work for me. That's a problem, but that's not the important thing. Apparently, it's going to collect your browser activity now. So it's time to remove it. I think someone bought this extension.

Works as expected. The permissions required are suspect, but with auto-update disabled for this plugin and after reading the XPI source code, I'm fine with it. The source code is clean and icons are nice and simple. Good job!
