What is Portrait Mode?
Portrait Mode is a Chrome extension that allows you to browse the web in portrait mode on your laptop. It was created for the Stupid Shit No One Needs & Terrible Ideas Hackathon and is a modification of the Read In Bed extension. It works with laptops that have an accelerometer/gyroscope, such as old MacBook Pros with HDD.

good for nothing
by Abdellatif Mostafa, 2024-05-29

This extension is a total flop! Despite its promises of offering portrait mode for laptops, it's nothing but a disappointment. It claims to work with laptops equipped with accelerometers or gyroscopes, but even on compatible devices, it fails to deliver any functionality. It's just a pointless modification of the existing Read In Bed extension, with no added value whatsoever. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this useless extension at all costs!
