User reviews

Users appreciate 'Flip this' for flipping pages and images, helping in reading comics, dance learning, and stock analysis. However, the extension struggles with inconsistent website support, right-click issues, and lack of updates since 2012. Users report it doesn't work universally, doesn't handle PDFs or image URLs well, and needs improved functionality like sideways scrolling when rotated. Despite these flaws, its simplicity and specialized utility keep it valuable for certain tasks.
Pros
  • Effectively flips page or image orientations as advertised.
  • Works well for specific use cases like reading comics, manga, and teleprompters.
  • Useful for activities like learning dance choreography or technical stock chart analysis.
  • Simple and easy to use with a straightforward interface.
Cons
  • Has compatibility issues on many websites; does not work universally.
  • Causes problems with right-click functionality, including deselecting text and adding a blue dotted outline, which can be frustrating for copying and pasting.
  • Lacks updates since 2012 leading to unaddressed bugs and potential abandonment.
  • Cannot flip PDFs and images from image URLs as desired.
  • Needs functionality improvements like sideways scrolling when pages are rotated 90 degrees to prevent content cutoff.

Thank you, it's perfect. Can I suggest you making an reading extension/app that will make any text divided in sections (like 3-5 sentences), each of which will have different orientation. I use your extension for spicing up my morning reading, to make my brain more flexible. If extension did this in more convenient way it would be nice. Like you choose options "50 percent of text normal, 10 percent upside down, 10 flipped horizontally..." and so on. You can market it as neuroplasticity enchancer and speed reading aid. Also options like scrambled words, some letters switched to slightly similar looking emojis would be nice. And maybe synesthezia training option, when you jcassionally switch particular letter with coloured squares untill the brain gets used to them and then recognizes the coloured squares as letters already.
