Facebook has recently begun injecting a fbclid parameter into all outgoing URLs. This is, imo, a bit of a dick move. So this addon strips that param from all url requests.

Doesn't work in FF 76.0.1 - fbclid is still there in the requested URL
by Fi*****, 2020-05-27
Glad I found this! The Privacy Browser by Soren Stoutner has this as a built-in feature, so I'm glad you're providing it as an addon for FF.
In the Privacy Browser, it not only offers the option to remove "&fbclid=" and "?fbclid=", but also "&fbadid=" and "?fbadid=". Then there is Google Analytics ("&utm_" and "?utm_"), and Twitter's AMP redirection ("?amp=1").
Maybe you can extend this your addon to one mighty ulr-cleaner… :D

Works as stated. I sometimes have to manually remove them when I wasn't to share a link as I don't want this tracking id in it. GREAT JOB DEV!!! :-)

Is nofbclid Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
nofbclid requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
