RiverPulse - Kayak Flow Levels

RiverPulse shows live discharge (m³/s) and water level for Norwegian rivers, straight from
NVE's official hydrological stations — built for kayakers who decide where to paddle based
on flow.

RiverPulse is an independent app made by Datahove AS. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by
or operated by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), or by any other
government entity, and it does not provide or facilitate any government service.

Every measurement shown comes from NVE, a Norwegian government agency. You can check the same

FLOW AT A GLANCE
• Your favourite rivers as cards: current discharge, a trend arrow, and a 48-hour flow trace
behind the number, so you can see at a glance whether the river is rising, dropping or steady.
• Go/no-go chips on every card answer "is anything runnable right now?" before you open a
single river.
• Drag to reorder your rivers so the ones you actually paddle sit at the top.

RUNNABLE SECTIONS
• Define your own sections per river — a name and the window it works in
(e.g. "Canyon, 20–60 m³/s").
• Green when it's in range, red when it's too low or too high. Red tells you which side, so
you know whether to wait for rain or for the river to drop.
• Rivers that only report water level get their sections in metres instead.

RIVER DETAIL
• Choose your window: last 7 days, 30 days, 3 months or a full year. The year view shows the
whole season — autumn rain, winter low water, the spring snowmelt flood — so you can judge
whether today's flow is high or low for the time of year.
• Gridded chart with real dates and readable values, plus the latest readings one by one.
• Rename any river. NVE names gauges, not runs, so call it what you and your mates call it.

HOME SCREEN WIDGETS
• A single-river card widget: pick the river when you place it, and add one per river.
• A compact list widget showing every favourite with its go/no-go count.
• Both follow your light/dark theme, resize freely, and refresh with one tap.

ANDROID AUTO
• One river on the car screen, with the flow, level, trend and go/no-go summary.
• Previous/next buttons step through your favourites, and it reopens on the river you looked
at last.
• A full list of your rivers is one tap away.

STRAIGHT ABOUT ITS DATA
• Two timestamps, never conflated: when NVE measured the water, and when the app last reached
NVE. If the phone has been offline you can see that, rather than trusting a stale number.
• Readings older than 90 minutes are marked outdated instead of being dressed up as live.
• Offline, saved values stay visible and clearly labelled.

COVERAGE
• Around 4,900 active NVE stations across Norway are searchable — add any of them. Stations
that publish only water level work too, showing level as the headline number.
• Norway only: NVE covers Norwegian rivers.

No accounts, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking. Just flow data.
