AutoLens

AutoLens uses a camera to read license plates on cars, trailers and motorcycles. This is done with the local AI/OCR/ANPR function in the app. You can also enter the license plate manually, and see an overview of previously registered license plates. This is an independent service that helps you find information about vehicles and owners by forwarding you to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's publicly available websites with your own browser. And to create an SMS message so that you can use the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's SMS service (Kr.3,-) through your own messaging app if you wish.

AutoLens is a practical tool for those of you who need to look up vehicle information quickly and easily. Using advanced local OCR technology (optical character recognition), the app can read license plates on cars, trailers and motorcycles directly via your camera.

​Manual entry: Enter the license plate yourself if desired.
​History: See an overview of your previously scanned license plates (stored locally on your device only).
​Direct referral: The app generates a link that opens your browser directly to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration website for the vehicle in question.
​SMS helper: Prepare a text message for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's official SMS service (the service costs NOK 3 per message to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration).

AutoLens is an independent service. We do not store any personal information on our servers, and we do not pass on any data to third parties. All image processing takes place locally on your phone. The app is solely a tool that simplifies access to publicly available information by navigating you to the right place in your own browser or messaging app.
