Al-Muwatta

Al-Muwatta is one of the earliest and most respected collections of Hadith and Islamic jurisprudence, compiled by Malik ibn Anas, the founder of the Maliki school of thought. The book brings together authentic narrations of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, sayings of the companions, and the scholarly opinions of early scholars of Madinah.

It covers essential aspects of a Muslim’s life, including worship (such as prayer, fasting, and charity), ethics and character, family matters, business transactions, justice, and social conduct. Imam Malik carefully selected these narrations from the traditions practiced by the people of Madinah, making the work a foundational reference in Islamic law.
