Freedroid is a free software (GPL) remake of the classic Commodore 64 game Paradroid by Andrew Braybrook. Players control the 001 influence device on a freighter infested with hostile robots. The objective is to clear the ship by either shooting enemies or seizing control of their robots. Control is taken in a unique logic minigame where you must connect more electrical circuits within 10 seconds than your opponent.

Originally developed for DOS and later ported to Linux and Windows, Freedroid is now also available on Android using an SDL port with on-screen joystick emulation. The project is open source, inviting contributions and bug reports through its GitHub repository. With classic gameplay updated for modern platforms, Freedroid offers nostalgic fans and new players alike a challenging and strategic robot battle experience.

Loved Paradroid on the C64 and was excited to discover this. What a disappointment. It appeared to be a faithful remake if the original but controls in the takeover sequence make it impossible. Sadly uninstalling.
