Every AI-generated image carries an invisible paper trail. Tools like Midjourney, DALL·E, and Adobe Firefly embed provenance data directly into the file — a cryptographically signed C2PA manifest, EXIF tags (Software, Make, UserComment), XMP fields like DigitalSourceType: compositeSynthetic, and IPTC metadata.
