Features & Capabilities

Firefox Multi-Account Containers

The Firefox Multi-Account Containers extension empowers you to separate your online activities into distinct, color-coded tabs, keeping each part of your digital life organized and private. By isolating website storage and cookies within individual Containers, you can log into multiple accounts on the same site simultaneously — for example, managing work and personal email without conflict.

In addition, this extension helps you reduce cross-site tracking by segregating social media usage from general browsing. For enhanced privacy, Firefox Multi-Account Containers can integrate with Mozilla VPN, allowing you to protect your browsing activity in each Container—ideal for safely shopping abroad while accessing your home country accounts securely. Customize your Containers’ colors, names, and icons for easy management and enjoy streamlined, private browsing in a single browser window.

User Reviews

Users broadly view Firefox Multi-Account Containers as essential and highly useful for separating personal/work accounts and managing multiple tenants. It’s seen as a core, must-have plugin that improves workflow. Some note missing features (private browsing containers, always-open-in-container behavior) and a few isolated issues (e.g., removing sites from the managed list), but overall sentiment is strongly positive and focused on enhancement rather than fundamental flaws.
Pros
  • Essential/must-have/core plugin for Firefox workflows
  • Very useful for using the same site with multiple accounts (personal vs work)

Works great Feature request - keyboard shortcut to open the containers extension and automatically highlight the "Search container name" box. Would be very handy for opening containers on the fly with less clicking needed
