Summary

Geheim is Dutch for secret. Use this extension to apply encryption on anything you submit online. This will prevent your information from being available if there is a data breach, and it ensures only the intended receivers are able to read your messages.

The Geheim extension is currently in PUBLIC BETA. Please report any issues via https://github.com/sjoerdvanderhoorn/ChromeGeheim/issues

This is the first ever application that helps you to protect your data seamlessly using the encryption methods you choose. If you are in a location where other secure channels may be tampered with or disabled, use Geheim to leave your encrypted messages through public channels.

This Chrome extension finds all input[type=text] and textarea fields on a website and gives the user the option to passkey protect any data that is entered before it is sent to the server by a self chosen encryption method. Fields are highlighted either in green or red, with green meaning encryption is applied while red notifies the user that no encryption is used for the data in that field. By clicking on the shield in the upper right corner, encryption can be toggled.

All encyption and decryption happens on your own machine. The developer of this extension does not have access to any of your data nor encryption methods and passwords. This extension is open source and can be contributed to or may be authored via GitHub (see website).

Using this extension, it is possible to achieve end-to-end encryption between you and any other person or group of people. The extension also works with mainstream apps like Facebook, Twitter, GitHub, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, etc.

This extension by default comes with sample implementations of AES, RSA, and XOR One-time Pad encryption methods, but can be configured up to the required security level.
