Cite Marker

Mark snippets and quotes quickly then easily retrieve and cite them later.

What is Cite Marker?
"Cite Marker" is a Chrome extension that modernises bookmarking web content. Instead of bookmarking whole pages, Cite Marker allows users to highlight specific portions of text on a web page, convert them into ‘marks’, and save them for later use. Offering accurate search through these marks, this tool not only aids in easy referencing and citation but also provides the ability to share these marked snippets on platforms like Twitter.

Summary

Learn how to bookmark better!

Mark snippets and quotes quickly then easily retrieve and cite them later.

It's as easy as copying text from a web page and it's better than a regular bookmark.

Cite Marker uses your highlighted text instead of the generic page title when creating bookmarks.

If there are multiple phrases on a page that you want to recall, create multiple marks. They don't cost extra!

Search more accurately through your bookmarks when looking for something specific.

Tweet them to your followers too if you want.

*Like but not Love it* This allows you to bookmark a page from the right-click menu to bookmark using the selected text as the name of the bookmark, also you can tweet the page by the selected text. Not a bad idea, but I believe I can still do this manually with cut and paste, and that would allow me to place the bookmark in another folder.

Great concept, but sucky implementation. I wanted to give it a 5 stars. But it doesn't highlight the text when you come back, so you don't have a clue what you original cited, if I understand its operation correctly. I need a tool like this, but, in this current incarnation, it's not what I expected by reading the promotions about it. I can't wait until they update and improve it. Also, it puts the links somewhere hidden, so kindof hard to find them. Has potential but let the developer work awhile on it until you rely on this app.

I haven't really published allot of reviews but this ext. really rocks. It works well, it is simple, easy to use and does not seem to hog resources up. Also you do not need to sign up for a long string of things. If you are a student, doing research or need to archive allot of information or quotes, this is for you
