Features & Capabilities

Lumen brings Google Gemini straight into your browser. Select some text or use the popup to summarize pages, explain content, or ask questions about what you're reading — with streaming answers and fully transparent cost.

Features

  • Summarize any page with one click
  • Explain or ask about selected text from the context menu
  • Ask questions with optional page context, plus a "search beyond context" toggle to let the model use its own knowledge
  • Streaming responses rendered as Markdown
  • History of your recent queries, reopenable with one click
  • Track tokens and estimated cost per query and by day / 7 days / month
  • Interface in English and Portuguese, with a configurable answer language
Requirements

A Gemini API key is required (free tier available at Google AI Studio). The key is stored locally in your browser — never sent to any server other than the Gemini API.

Privacy

No data is collected. Page content is read on demand (no script running in the background) and sent directly from your browser to the Gemini API, using your own key. Stats and history stay only in your browser.
