We are convinced that citizens do not just want to be up-to-date. They want to know what's happening behind the scenes. They want to understand how and why political, economic and social decisions are made. Above all, they want to know what is at stake for them and what that means for their lives. That's why we want to move away from the 24-hour news cycle, away from the trend towards quantity journalism, to which all major media have fallen today.

Our credo is: quality over quantity, thoroughness over speed, critical analysis and context against superficial information and sensationalism.

REPORTER is independent. We are not bound by any party, ideology or economic interests of shareholders or advertisers. REPORTER completely waives revenue from advertising. We do not bother you with banners, pop-ups or "sponsored content" on our website. For us, the focus is solely on the interest of our subscribers. For us, that is not a phrasing but the core of our business model.

REPORTER is critical. Journalism is only credible if it does not interfere with one thing and is at a critical distance from the powerful in our society. To be critical does not mean to us to find everything bad and to speak badly. Being critical means carefully examining every issue, questioning it from all points of view, and addressing things without fear.

REPORTER is investigative. Journalism takes time and perseverance to get to the bottom of things. We want to take this freedom. We invest our resources consistently and uncompromisingly in researched journalism. We do not publish speculations, but facts and reasoned assessments that have been compiled with all journalistic care.

REPORTER is participatory. We see in our readers not just readers, but people with their own opinions and expertise that enrich our work. With us you may not only comment on articles, but contribute constructively and actively in the journalistic research. We look forward to this exchange.
