Always go to the right domains and avoid scam pages

Features & Capabilities

A common problem in crypto is scammers tricking users to go into scam sites that are copies of real websites, but instead of implementing the functionality of the real website these scam sites drain the user's wallet instead.

This extension aims to solve this issue by replacing the new tab page with a new search bar that will first search over a list of manually curated sites (like metamask, binance, opensea, uniswap...) in order to provide safe domains for those. If it cant find a good match among the domains on the local list, then it will just send the user to google.

The extension is extremely privacy friendly and doesnt send anything, it only fetches the full list of all domains from our server and then searches over the list locally, never sending any search to our server. Furthermore, the extension only requires the permission to replace the new tab page, i didnt add any other permissions in order to keep attack surface as small as possible.

Is LlamaSearch Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

LlamaSearch requires very minimum permissions.
