DMCA Redirect Firefox

DMCA Redirect

By: Diego
Detects DMCA notices on Google Search pages and suggests rerunning the same query on Yandex.

Features & Capabilities

DMCA Redirect detects DMCA notices on Google Search result pages and helps you continue the same search on Yandex.

How it works

  1. Perform a search on Google.
  2. If a DMCA notice appears on the results page, the extension detects it.
  3. The toolbar icon shows an alert.
  4. Open the extension popup and click the button to run the same query on Yandex.
The extension does not automatically redirect searches. The alternative search only runs when the user clicks the button in the popup.

Privacy

  • The extension reads Google Search pages only to detect DMCA notices and related Lumen links.
  • The original search query and detected domains are stored locally in the browser.
  • No data is sent to any external server.

Is DMCA Redirect Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

DMCA Redirect requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
