Liberty Browser Plugin

Liberty cryptographic core extension for secure messaging

Features & Capabilities

Liberty adds an end-to-end encryption layer to your messaging. You encrypt text within the extension before pasting it into any messenger and decrypt what you receive. Even if a messenger account is compromised, your Liberty-encrypted content remains protected.

Security & Privacy Zero-Knowledge Architecture: All encryption runs locally in your browser. There are no dedicated Liberty servers and no logging of your data.

Encrypted Local Storage: Your database is protected by a master password using industry-standard encryption.

Anti-Scraping Input: Sensitive fields are rendered on a Canvas element (rather than standard DOM fields) to mitigate risks from keyloggers, DOM scrapers, and casual over-the-shoulder inspection.

Visual Integrity: Seed phrases and configurations use visual hashes, allowing you to verify at a glance that nothing has been tampered with.

Features Granular Contact Management: Create, edit, and delete contacts with per-recipient crypto configurations (tags, noise length, and iteration counts).

Secure I/O: Dedicated secure interface for encrypting outgoing and decrypting incoming messages.

Emergency Self-Destruct: Entering a specific "Emergency Password" immediately wipes all extension data from the device.

Note: Data can only be recovered if you have a previously exported backup.

Important Use the emergency wipe responsibly; there is no "undo" button.

Is Liberty Browser Plugin Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Liberty Browser Plugin requires very minimum permissions.
