PlantUML Viewer is a powerful Chrome extension that renders UML diagrams, including UML, Ditaa, and Dot graphs, from text files defined using PlantUML syntax. Simply open a web-hosted text file starting with @startuml, and watch the extension automatically display the corresponding diagram in your browser.

The extension supports automatic updates, refreshing diagrams whenever the source file changes, and allows you to customize the rendering server URL. Due to Chrome security policies, local files must be served via a local web server, such as Python's http.server. The extension supports PNG, SVG, and TXT output formats for flexible use cases, enhancing your workflow when working with PlantUML diagrams online.

Pros

Very useful. I like that it refreshes when I save updates to the file in my text editor.

Cons

Doesn't work at all. Only shows a broken image icon for any UML files.
Stopped working recently on all machines.
Security concerns related to sending user data to an external server without permission.
