Eventually I disabled this because it was replaying the same tips. I'm hesitant to drop a star just for that, but a couple of options like "don't show me this again" or "novice/.../expert" in the page would be nice. Maybe it could just grab a random entry from the help pages? If people are interested in changes like this but the dev(s) are too busy, I might be able to help or get a few others involved. The easiest improvement would have to be: start a thread in /r/vim and ask for submissions, sort by popularity, and add them to the mix.
